Yesturday after posting my blog, I was really irritated with myself-not entirely sure why although I have to admit I am irritating.  Feeling the pressures of time, a lack of it and how much of it I waste.  Also been thinking that at some point I will be expected to talk about the work, this is something I am seriously bad at.  So it makes sense to try to use the blog as a vehicle to articulate where I am coming from...

I have finished a smaller version to give me a better idea of how to proceed.  The question now is should I go with legs "planted into the ground" or a heavy metal base???  Resolving this problem seems to take more time than the actual making of the work and yet I think I have already made up my mind.  Procrastination is the death of progress.

The frame for a smaller practice version has been made I just need to attach the panel and see how this works as a finished piece.  then I will feel better able to decide how to progress on the actual piece for Broomhill.  Thank you Ian for helping with this.

The steel rods were bent to the shape of the wire pattern, this worked reasonable well, but I thought it might be easier next time to use a line drawn on the ground and to work from that.

I have now cut the perspex into the required shape, it looks a bit like a peanut!  And I have drilled holes so that I can attach the cable ties to the Pespex using wire.

I need to make a supporting frame like structure for this.  So I have been experimenting with smaller versions to see how best to go about it.

I have make a crude wire outline as a pattern to work from.

The cable ties have been secured together to for a long many tongued strand.  Steel cable has been pushed through the central core, this takes patience at certain points it snags and does not want to continue through.

I have also been looking for somewhere to buy the metal rods required for structural stability, this has been a pain as the place I had hoped to get them from closed down a couple of weeks ago.  After several phone calls I have ordered some from Tiverton my brother picked it up for me.
